    Are you a ski lover and you can’t resist until next winter?

    No problem! In Bormio, more precisely at the Stelvio Pass, you can ski even during the summer season. The Stelvio Glacier is the largest ski area in the Alps where the ski lifts are open from June 1st to November 3rd 2019.

    The practice of summer skiing on the glacier dates back to the early thirties when the Bergamo CAI built the Livrio Refuge and the first alpine skiing and ice climbing courses were held.

    The Stelvio Pass is today the ideal environment for learning to ski or improve your technique. The excellent sun exposure and the numerous shelters where to have lunch make the environment even more suggestive.

    The ski area offers over 20 km of slopes between the Stelvio Pass (2,758 m) and Monte Cristallo (3,450 m), 6 ski lifts including two gondolas that allow to get on the glacier even to those without skis, to enjoy the evocative panorama of the glacier and surrounding mountains.

    Each year, in addition, the best national alpine skiing teams from all over Europe and not only choose this wonderful pristine area, surrounded by the imposing peaks of the Ortler-Cevedale group, to prepare for the winter season.
