Valdidentro is a highly recommended winter destination for families with children: the gondola whisks you up the mountain to a large area dedicated to children, where they can enjoy themselves in the snow. For the youngest there is a school area, plus games and sleds, where they can enjoy sliding on the snow. Meanwhile the adults will ski in a resort ideally suited to children and families.
Not to be missed in the summer is a visit to the Cancano Lakes and the Towers of Fraele, for an immersion into nature and history. The unpaved roads that encircle the lakes are excellent for hiking or the mountain bike.
For lovers of hiking, both in the summer and winter (with snowshoes) we recommended the Val Viola and the Decauville Road, both are also practicable with the Dog Sled or Husky Trekking.
If you want to see a working mountain farm (malga) up close, to experience the mix between traditional and modern techniques, schedule a visit to the Malga Trela and enjoy our local products.
There are several refuges/mountain huts in Valdidentro, among which we recommend the Agriturismo Caricc and the Rifugio Federico Dosdè, both in Val Viola.
